We are now looking for an Equipment & Yard Manager to join our team.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for the management, maintenance, inventory control, and operational readiness of Blue Offshore’s offshore equipment pool.
You ensure that all technical assets — from cable handling systems and offshore tooling to support equipment, spare parts, and consumables — are properly maintained, fully traceable, certified where required, and available for project mobilisation.
This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong organisational, planning, and asset management skills and acts as the key link between the equipment base, project teams, and offshore operations.
You are responsible for maintaining accurate equipment records, inventory control, certification status, and asset tracking within Blue Offshore’s asset management system (Timly), ensuring equipment availability and accountability throughout its lifecycle.
You will spend most of your time at our yard and warehouse in Rotterdam (RHB Waalhaven), where equipment is stored, maintained, inspected, and prepared for mobilisation. Regular presence at our head office in The Hague is also required for coordination meetings, project preparations, and operational planning with project teams.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Management
- Manage and organise the complete equipment pool, including preventive and corrective maintenance and project-specific modifications.
- Ensure all equipment is operational and contributes to optimal project performance.
- Supervise inspections, repairs, and upgrades of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Maintain up-to-date maintenance plans, spare parts databases, and equipment records.
- Own and maintain the complete equipment inventory within Timly, ensuring full traceability and accountability of all assets.

- Ensure that every item, including tools, PPE, spare parts, and consumables, is properly registered, traceable, and returned after use. Implement clear procedures for issuing, tracking, replacing, and maintaining assets to prevent unnecessary loss or waste.
- Conduct periodic physical inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and Timly records.
- Establish and maintain equipment ownership, asset status, certification status, calibration status (where applicable), and location tracking.
- Develop, implement, and enforce warehouse, storage, asset control, and equipment handling procedures.
- Ensure all project equipment is available, certified, maintained, and ready for mobilisation in accordance with project schedules.
- Coordinate together with project teams the mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment, including packing, transport, and documentation.
- Liaise with subcontractors for third-party maintenance, certification, and specialist repairs.
- Report periodically on equipment utilisation, maintenance status, certification expiry dates, inventory accuracy, and equipment readiness.
Operational Support
- Provide on-site technical expertise during equipment mobilisation, commissioning, and

- Support Project Managers with technical planning, documentation, and performance
- Contribute to operational safety, quality, and efficiency
- Coordinate with offshore crews, logistics, and supply chain
- Promote HSE awareness and behaviour-based safety
Research & Development and Continuous Improvement
- Participate in the development and improvement of Blue Offshore’s
- Recommend and implement technical innovations to increase reliability and reduce
- Contribute to the company’s R&D programme for new technologies and equipment
Competence Profile Education
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or marine engineering (MTS/HTS level or equivalent).
- HSE leadership or safety training is an advantage. VCA
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in technical services, marine or heavy industry, or offshore
- Proven experience with offshore, marine, subsea, cable handling or heavy lifting equipment management.
- Experience with winches, hydraulic systems, tensioners, cable handling equipment, offshore tooling or similar equipment is strongly preferred.
