We are now looking for an Project engineer to join our team.

Position Overview

The Project Engineer supports Blue Offshore with engineering expertise to ensure project and tender requirements are met in accordance with technical, contractual, quality and safety standards. The role contributes to project delivery by providing practical engineering solutions and technical support during all project phases.

Job Objective
Support the successful execution of projects by delivering engineering solutions in line with project requirements, company standards and client expectations.

Main Responsibilities

Engineering Support

  • Support engineering activities for tenders and projects within assigned scope;
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet contractual, technical, quality and HSE requirements;
  • Provide engineering input for construction, mechanical and electrical aspects where applicable;
  • Develop practical engineering solutions to support operability of Blue Offshore systems;
  • Support technical preparation of offshore and onshore project activities.

Project Support

  • Support project teams during project execution, including mobilisation, demobilisation, assembly, disassembly, cable installation and cable loading activities;
  • Assist in planning, coordinating and monitoring allocated engineering work;
  • Monitor engineering activities for compliance with applicable codes, standards and accepted engineering practices;
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical updates where required;
  • Documentation and Procedures;
  • Prepare project-related procedures and technical documentation;
  • Support project reporting, both internal and external;
  • Coordinate issue of project-related documents when delegated by the Engineering Manager;
  • Support engineering document control and planning.

Technical Coordination

  • Ensure interdisciplinary coordination and effective technical communication within projects;
  • Manage technical interfaces with other disciplines, subcontractors and external parties where required;
  • Support technical communication with clients, subcontractors and vessel operators within assigned scope.

Risk and Improvement

  • Ensure project activities are covered by required risk assessments;
  • Support development of improved methods, technical approaches and practical  solutions;
  • Capture and maintain technical knowledge gained during projects.

Reporting Line

The Project Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager.

Integrated Management System (IMS)

  • Maintain allocated IMS documents and procedures where assigned;
  • Coordinate with owners of related IMS documents where relevant.

Authority

  • Raise requisitions for purchasing and subcontracting in consultation with the Engineering Manager;
  • Conduct technical communication with clients and subcontractors within assigned project scope.

Competence

Education

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent qualification;
  • VCA VOL or equivalent preferred;
  • Offshore medical and sea survival certification where required for offshore work.

Experience

  • Competent in MS Office and relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD, Mathcad, FEM software and Ansys;
  • Offshore experience preferred.

Skills

  • Good command of English, written and spoken;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Critical and analytical mindset;
  • Strong problem-solving ability;
  • Able to work independently within assigned scope;
  • Comfortable with ad hoc situations and urgent project issues;
  • QHSE awareness.

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to work additional hours when required by project deadlines or operational activities.
  • Willingness to continue developing technical competence;
  • Occasional travel as required;
  • Availability for urgent contact outside office hours in case of project emergencies.
